Christy Goldsby
Christy Goldsby is the founder of Honey Mama’s, the Portland, Oregon-based maker of refrigerated Truffle Bars, changing the status quo for indulgence. In 2010, Christy was diagnosed with Hashimoto’s, an autoimmune condition that pushed her to change the way she ate. Through healing her gut and eliminating gluten, dairy, and processed foods she not only turned her health around but was driven to create a line of products to share with the world, that encouraged awareness about food as a powerful resource for healing. Drawing on years in the food business, including running a family bakery, Christy made the first Honey Mama’s bars from a handful of nutrient rich, easy to digest whole-food ingredients — raw honey, 100% cocoa, unrefined coconut oil, and sprouted nuts and launched at the world-renowned Portland Farmers Market in 2013. What started as a search for healing has grown into a company with products sold in more than 10,000 stores nationwide, and Goldsby recognized as one of the early voices to push the food-as-medicine movement into the mainstream snack aisle.
